A search for a missing father turns into an otherworldly trip. Based on the 2016 novel by Matt Ruff, this HBO drama series follows Korean war vet Atticus Freeman (Jonathan Majors) as he joins his friend Letitia (Jurnee Smollett) and his Uncle George (Courtney B. Vance) on a journey across 1950s Jim Crow America in search of his father (Michael Kenneth Williams).
